If you find yourself going to one of the more popular buffets on the Strip around dinner time, you might be a tad miffed to find quite a few other people had the same idea as you.
It is not uncommon to encounter one hour line ups at the major casino buffets at Caesar’s Palace, Bellagio, Mirage, Spice Market at Planet Hollywood, Le Village at Paris .. Just to name a few.
Do not expect any pampering while in the line up. We’ve yet to encounter a server walking down the line offering complimentary beverages and hand towels to the hoards of people lined up like cattle in conditions that are far from comfortable. What a shame.
Another nicety would be if the casinos could position couches in the line up hallways so people could at least rest their feet instead of standing for an hour or more like at Disneyland. God forbid.
If you hate standing in the Vegas buffet line as much as we do, we have discovered an unpublicized hack that can get you seated and enjoying the buffet WITHOUT having to stand in line.
No, you do not have to be a big time gambler. Many Vegas buffets will allow their casino’s big rollers to go to the front of the line ahead of the common folk like us.
See if the buffet you are heading to has a bar area. If the bar has chairs and allows patrons to sit at the bar while enjoying the buffet, they often will allow people to be seated at the bar without having to wait in line. This is not advertised anywhere. Nobody will tell you this. You’ve got to just know this information to be able to benefit from it.
When we were at the buffet very recently at the Bellagio we got the front of the line treatment because we were good to enjoy our meal sitting at their bar. It saved us a good hour from slogging it out in the dinner line up.
And if you do ask about this exception, tell them you read about it at Primo Vegas. Bon appetite!
